Department of Electronics and Information Technology

The Department of Electronics and Information Technology was established from the Institute of Electronics and Information Technology on 1 October 2019. The Institute was founded on 1 April 2012 from the Department of Electronics, which had been separated from the Department of Automation and Electronics in 1991. The founder and first head of the Department of Electronics was Assoc. Prof. Tadeusz Latocha, PhD, Eng. Between 1998 and 2003, the Department was headed by Prof. Witold Pawelski, PhD, Eng. In 2003, Prof. Waldemar Wójcik, PhD, Eng., became Head of the Department. Since 1 October 2020, the position of Head of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology has been held by Paweł Komada, PhD, DSc, Eng., University Professor.

The Department employs 38 staff members, including research and teaching staff:

• 3 full professors,
• 7 doctors of science (DSc),
• 19 doctors (PhD),
• 6 masters of science (MSc).

Four departments and one laboratory have been established within the Department of Electronics and Information Technology:

• Department of Electronics and Technical Physics,
• Department of Telematics and Medical Diagnostics,
• Department of Optoelectronics and Telematic Networks,
• Department of Diagnostics and Measurement Analysis,
• Laboratory of Combustion Process Diagnostics.
