Professor Piotr Kacejko is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Lublin University of Technology. He began his professional career at his home university in 1979 as an assistant. He obtained the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1983. In the years 1983–1999, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Networks and Protections, which he has headed since 2006. After obtaining the postdoctoral degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, he was employed in 2000 as an associate professor, and after receiving the title of professor in 2006, as a full professor. He specialises in the analysis of power systems, particularly under emergency conditions, and in numerical methods related to their analysis. He is one of the creators of computer programs for short-circuit calculations used in many power sector institutions. He is the author of more than 200 articles, conference papers and research reports.
