The Department of Power Engineering was established in 1991 as a result of the reorganisation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Lublin University of Technology. Until July 2019, it operated under the name of the Department of Electrical Networks and Security.
The Department’s research activity is closely linked to cooperation with partners from the energy sector. It includes power grid modelling, analysis and optimisation of operating conditions, assessment of reliability and safety, and power quality.
The head of the Department is Professor Piotr Kacejko.
