Professor Paweł Pijarski is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Lublin University of Technology, specialising in power engineering. He completed his master’s studies in 2004 as the best student in the Electrical Engineering programme and was distinguished with the Medal of Lublin University of Technology. In 2004, he began doctoral studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Lublin University of Technology, which he completed in 2008. He has been working at the Department of Power Engineering since 2005.

In June 2012, he obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in the discipline of electrical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Lublin University of Technology. His doctoral dissertation was awarded a distinction. In May 2019, he obtained the academic degree of habilitated doctor in engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of automation, electronics and electrical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Lublin University of Technology.

His scientific interests are related to the analysis and assessment of operating conditions of the power system, as well as metaheuristic optimisation methods. He is the author and co-author of several dozen publications on this subject. His achievements also include 1 original monograph, 6 monographs as co-editor and co-author of chapters, as well as one co-authored book.
