We invite researchers to submit scientific papers to the special issue of the journal Energies entitled "Advanced Optimization and Forecasting Methods in Power Engineering". The guest editors of this issue include members of the Department of Power Engineering: Professor Paweł Pijarski, Professor Piotr Kacejko, and Professor Piotr Miller.
Energies is a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal with 140 points assigned by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science, an Impact Factor of 3.252, and a CiteScore of 5.0. The aim of this special issue is to address various current and practical problems occurring in power systems. Modern power systems face not only technical challenges, but also issues of an economic nature. These challenges arise not only at the operational stage of power networks, but also during their planning. In practice, network operators at every voltage level deal with a variety of emergency conditions that may lead to overloads, voltage violations, problems with power balance, and system stability. At the same time, various advanced methods are already being applied to solve these problems. The purpose of this research topic is to identify and assess the applicability of various optimization methods and machine learning techniques for solving problems in the field of power engineering.
