Master’s Diploma Exam - Key Information for Students

To take the master’s diploma exam, students must complete their thesis topic and prepare the thesis in accordance with the applicable requirements.

After completing the diploma thesis, the student should:

  • agree on the proposed defence date with the secretary of the examination committee,
  • submit the student record book with all required course credits to the Dean’s Office at least two weeks before the planned defence date,
  • provide the secretary of the examination committee with the required printed copies of the thesis and its electronic version.

The following documents are required:

  • two hard-bound copies of the diploma thesis, with an attached and signed CD/DVD,
  • one glued soft-bound copy, not spiral-bound, printed double-sided, together with a copy of the data carrier.

The data carrier should include the diploma thesis in digital form, for example in doc, docx, pdf or odt format, as well as other materials related to the thesis, including software, source code or other attachments required by the thesis supervisor.

After meeting all formal requirements, the student may take the diploma exam. During the defence, the student’s knowledge of issues related to the diploma thesis and their field-specific knowledge in power engineering are assessed.
