  • distributed energy sources in the power system;
  • applications of information and computational tools in power engineering.

Training programmes can be tailored to the needs of the interested institution or company.

The Department of Power Engineering has experience in carrying out expert, research and implementation projects for companies and institutions associated with the power sector and industry.

Selected areas of completed work include:

  • grid connection and power system analyses – assessment of the feasibility of connecting new facilities to power networks and their impact on power system operating conditions, including work carried out for PGE Dystrybucja and Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe „Puławy”;
  • transmission network analyses – assessment of connection capacity at network nodes and analysis of operating conditions of high- and extra-high-voltage infrastructure;
  • power line modelling – verification of methods and algorithms for determining the electrical parameters of multi-circuit and multi-voltage power lines, carried out, among others, in cooperation with PSE Innowacje;
  • power system protection and automation – studies concerning the operation, configuration and selection of settings for automation and protection systems used in power networks;
  • analysis of industrial power systems – comprehensive testing and assessment of the operation of industrial power systems;
  • specialised software for power engineering – development and adaptation of computer tools supporting technical analyses;
  • testing of lighting installations – measurement and assessment of the photometric parameters of lighting installations, including road infrastructure;
  • analysis of the impact of energy infrastructure – studies concerning, among other aspects, electromagnetic fields and selected aspects of the operation of power equipment.

The scope of each project is tailored to the specific characteristics of the facility under analysis, the available data, and the client's requirements.

Companies, institutions and research organisations interested in commissioning analyses or expert assessments, undertaking joint research and development activities, obtaining specialist consultations, or organising training are invited to contact the Department of Power Engineering.
